What's now become an annual tradition, our taiko group is running (yes, running) up Mt. Fuji once again (I say once again but for me, this is a first- and possibly the last if I don't come back alive.)
Day 1 starts from the beach (sea-level), and continues 30km up the base of the mountain. First 15km or so isn't so bad, it's still flatland, but the second half can be accurately summed up as 'painful'. 20 more Ks tomorrow, right up to the fifth station (elevation 2300m). We'll see how long my wobbly knees last.
