Earthquake in Japan- Reactor (Update #4)

There are still a lack of details on exactly what is happening in and around the reactor.

The priority, however, is to cool the reactor to avoid further explosions or escape of radiation. They are currently doing this with seawater.

The second priority is to be wary of the direction of the winds. Southern winds do increase the possibility of radiation into Tokyo.

Thirdly, there is news that people should ingest iodine. Iodine, apparently, helps to contain radiation within the body in such a way that it prevents harm. Japanese nori, konbu (i.e. seaweed) contain high amounts of iodine. They are telling people to consume lots of  sea-based vegetables over the next few days.

In other words, expect stampedes at the supermarket.
